Every release of iOS always bring in some new features or improvements of features that competitors aka Google have had for a while. However, there is one feature that stands out and not many talk about: The Back Tap! It is the number 1 feature I’m most excited about while using the Public Beta release of iOS on an iPhone 11.

Back Tap

The feature allows you to tap the back of your phone to initiate an action. You can set it up for two different actions by either double tap or triple tap.

You can turn on this feature by going to the Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap

From here you will be allowed to configure the double tap or triple tap. Besides being allowed to set up simple actions like Show Control Center or simulate Shake to Unto, this feature allows you also set up Siri Shortcuts.

Open the camera, show unread messages, turn on home lights… the list is endless.

Give it a try and leave a comment about it!

Side note: I haven’t tested with a full cover!

Although I have a cover on my iPhone, the cover always had a whole cut out in the back to show off the Apple logo and works perfect with the Back Tap feature.

I use the Spigen Tough Armor Designed for Apple iPhone 11 Case (2019) — (Amazon $16.99 Rated 4.5 ⭐️ over 5000 reviews)
